Press-fit technology - the alternative to soldering technology

  • manufacture of plug connections using pins and a plated-through circuit board
  • very stable, reliable mechanical and electrical connection
  • low thermal load
  • avoiding of high stress and constant shocks to sensitive solder bridges
  • meets the high demands of the automotive industry

Two types of press-fit technology

Massive press-in technology or needle eye technology
Solid pins deform the press-in area when inserted into the circuit board. The resulting force effect creates an electrical connection between the printed circuit board and the press-in contact.

Action pin and multispring
With this technique, the flexibility of the pressed-in pins ensures that their deformation in creates tension and thus electrical contact between the plate and the pin.

Plug connections are quick to manufacture, well suited for compact assembly designs and very corrosion-resistant due to the gas-tight covering at the contact zones. They are preferred in the automotive sector for lighting applications, in the vehicle electrical system and in the engine compartment.
